Perak Darul Ridzuan is the second largest state in Peninsular Malaysia. Perak means "silver" in Malay and was probably named so because of the silvery colour of tin. Perak was famed for tin mining during the 1890s.
Ipoh is its state capital, famed for its good food and limestone hills and caves.
Other popular destinations include Pulau Pangkor, Teluk Intan, Bukit Merah Laketown Resort, Kellie's Castle in Batu Gajah, and Lumut, which is famous of its seafood and Outward Bound School.
