Ao Nang is about half an hour by taxi from Krabi, Thailand. It was a fishing village that is growing into a tourist destination. From here you can take boats out to the islands or just wander their beaches. There are plenty of very tasty varieties of restaurants. We stayed at the Ao Nang Beach Resort 142 Moo 2, Ao Nang Amphur Muang, Krabi 81000 and had a wonder stay. In the travel forums this hotel does not have a great write up, but it is now under new ownership and there has been a vast improvement of previous reports. We do recommend that you stay in Deluxe rooms upstairs as they are a bit more comfortable. If you really like to spread out try one of the suites. Very clean, very friendly, central location with the beach across the road. I look forward to going back and staying with them again
