Kitchen Creatures is a new restaurant recently opened at my neighborhood mall. I only discovered it this week and already went there twice (OK, the first time I didn't have my camera at hand).

Nice environment, well lit, with dining area both indoors and on the balcony (Restaurant is on the 1st Floor above Starbucks).

Service is good and servers are attentive. They may come by your table to ask how's your food.

The owner/head chef is someone called "Creature George" as noted on their menu. They have quite a sense of humor. Read the menu and you'll know what I mean.

The menu is Western with Soups, Starters, Main Course (Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Seafood, Mixed Grill, Sandwiches, Burgers, Pies), Side Dishes, Desserts, and assorted non-alcoholic Beverages. Not sure if the menu is halal or pork-free though. But I guess so.

Food portions are decent for such affordable prices.

The first time I dined here (sorry no photos), my flatmates and I shared the Monster Platter (battered prawns, calamari, button mushrooms, nachos and chicken wings with dip) and the Grilled Lamb Chop. I love the chicken wings, juicy prawns and mushrooms. Calamari was OK though the nachos at that time didn't seem so crispy. The lamb was nice (but I'm no big fan of lamb) and I like the signature chili lime cilantro glaze for it. This dish came with a bit of angelhair pasta and veggies on the side.

Second visit (as pictured here), I had the Straganoff (RM12) - rice with a concoction of sliced beef, chicken sauteed with mushroom, capsicum and onions in creamy sour cream gravy. Nice and tasty. Though I wished there was a bit more beef there.

My friend had the Sirloin Steak (RM16) in garlic butter sauce and 2 side orders of steamed veggies and mash potatoes (supposed to come with angelhair instead but friend asked for the mash). The steak is just a nice portion for one person; chargrilled, I think. Liked the sauce. And the mash potatoes. Yum.

Oh. I highly recommend the Creamy Wild Mushroom Soup (RM5.80)! So yummy and you can taste the mushroom bits. Love it! Served with garlic croutons and scented cream.

Kitchen Creatures is now a new favorite dining and hangout place for me. Huge plus that everything is affordable. Each dish is not more than RM30. So thumbs up!
