That's all folks! We've wrapped up the Lotus Racing Forum Contest which had a good run these past weeks. Koolred collaborated with Lotus F1 Racing to bring you the superb weekly contest which ran from 2-22 December 2010. Three forum questions that were related to the Tony VS Richard F1 wager were posted on Koolred for each consecutive week.
Thank you to everyone who entered the contest and making it a great success! Sir Richard Branson would've been proud and pleased with your tips and suggestions, we're sure.

We would like to congratulate our nine winners for the three weeks who each receives exclusive Lotus Racing merchandise. It was fun and entertaining going through all the brilliant submissions that were sent in for the three contest questions. It's unfortunate that not all entries could be shortlisted as winners… but we did save some that we like to be featured in this special post!
We kicked start the first week (2-8 Dec 2010) by asking you guys to give some tips and advice to Sir Branson before he begins serving on the AirAsia flight as a cabin crew member. Some of you suggested the soon-to-be-stewardess to be his true self on the flight…

…while some begged to differ by advising the Virgin Racing boss to conceal his mane:

Some went one step further by providing in-flight tips such as Sir Branson to perform some outrageous pre-flight safety demonstration:

… and even to potty train him before he struggles in that red hot AirAsia stewardess uniform and skirt:

In Week 2 (9-15 Dec) we turned up a notch by putting you in the passenger's shoes, and asked you to name one thing you want Richard Branson to do on the charity flight. As he is set to fly off on 21 February 2011 from Kuala Lumpur to London, some of you thought it would be interesting to have Sir Branson experience the Malaysia culture by having him prepare local delicacies…

… and to perform some in-flight entertainment… Malaysian style!

Oh and just because he is a celebrity, it doesn't mean he gets to be excused from the dirty chores too:

We love the friendly F1 bet so much that we're already thinking about the next bet between the two airline tycoons! In the final week, we asked you guys to come up with the next bet which would top the "stewardess" stint (16-22 Dec). We laughed at your wacky and creative forum replies such as making the loser do some airport ground work:

What about a cross-dress bet again but this time, the loser will need to don a sexier outfit by posing as a 'Racing Pit Girl' at the F1 scene:

And why should the boss be the only one involved and not the entire losing F1 team? The team and their leader should together be the ones to face the challenge (this should motivate the team to work hard to beat their rivals):

Congrats once again to our weekly contest winners who made it to the 'finish line'. To our contestants, we wish you had fun participating in the contest just as much as we did reading your entries! Oh and a big thumbs up to Lotus Racing for their generous support in sponsoring those amazing prizes as well.
We're on the edge of our seats as we can't wait to see Sir Richard Branson strut the aisles of Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes' aircraft on February 21 next year.
Till then, from all of us at Koolred we wish you a very Happy New Year. See you in 2011!
Wanna know how to make your own eggnog?
It's simple!
Just follow the guide below and you'll be able to make and serve those Christmas must-have traditions in a jiffy!
Merry Christmas to all!
Moving into 2011, we at Koolred thinks it's time for a change as we opt for inexpensive materials and handmade decorations this festive season, instead of ridiculously-priced Christmas ornaments and putting up artificial trees.

Okie, we kid. We did have our traditional Christmas tree set up awhile back, but we actually 'recycled' the entire tree and decorations from last year. But we've also set up our very own Koolrecycled Christmas tree, made from empty cardboard boxes and wrapped in magazine sheets.
If you're not up for structuring your own cardboard Christmas tree, that's okie you can still opt for greener options when it comes to decorating your tree. You can make do with a whole lot of materials by decorating the tree with recycled items. Make ornaments out of light bulbs, toilet rolls, CDs- anything that would end up in the garbage bin could be used to transform that Christmas tree into a funky and unique tree that would not cost you a penny!
In this post we'll be sharing a step-by-step process on how to make your very own personalised recycled tree, all in the spirit of a 'Go Green' Christmas.
Instructions
Things you will need:
Grab whatever cardboard and paper items you can get your hands on (preferably boxes that come in different length and heights so that you can stack them up into a tree-like manner)
- Magazines and newspapers
- Scissors and blades
- Pens and pencils
- Strings/ ribbons
- Tape and glue
- Christmas lights
Step 1
Adjust and stack up the boxes from the largest to the smallest. Don't worry if you get it wrong the first few tries. Your tree should most importantly be stable, so take some time to select and stack the boxes right.

Step 2
Once you're happy with how your 'tree' is shaped, you can proceed to wrap each individual box with pages from magazines.

Tip: Use colorful pages and remember to paste the sheets in overlaps and not like you're wrapping a present (this is to enhance the funkiness of the tree). Check out one of our team mates' wrapped box called "Faces" where she cleverly chose magazine pages to blend them into one theme.

Step 3
A Christmas tree is not complete without its bright and shining star at the top, so use a blade to cut out a star from a cardboard piece and decorate it with gold paper or any shiny paper you can find.

Step 4
To make the Christmas star stand at the top of the 'tree', stuff some scrunched-up newspaper/ magazine pages (or any unwanted bits of paper) into the highest or smallest box of the tree. This is to create more weight for the box so that the star will be more stable. Use a blade to cut a small incision at the top of the highest box so you can fit the star to stand. You can also stick a piece of chopstick at the back of the 'star' to have it stand.

Step 5
If you have extra boxes which were not suitable to be part of the Christmas Recycled Tree, don't let those go to waste! Wrap them up as presents to compliment your 'tree'. Also you can use strings as ribbons to decorate the 'presents', or cut out thin strips of paper to make ribbon crafts:

Step 6
When everything is in place, as tradition goes place your Christmas star at the top of the 'tree'. A Christmas tree should also be illuminated so decorate it with ropes of bright lights.

Step 7
Once the 'tree' and 'presents' are in place, have some good ole' Christmas traditions and games such as creating wish lists and writing them on cardboard cut-out heart tags (2011's dawning upon us!). 'Wonder which one of us will have their wish come true…

And there you have it folks! We've transformed this:
into this
We hope you enjoyed this post as much as we did making our Koolred Recycled Tree. And we would like all of you to share your thoughts- what's the most unique Christmas decoration you've set eyes on? Any specific themes you favour during Christmas?
Or perhaps you want to embark on your very own recycled theme Christmas? Recycling saves as resources are conserved- for every ton of paper that is recycled, we save 17 trees, 60,000 gallons of water, 225 kilowatt hours and 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space.
Christmas is about giving… and that's a whole lot of giving back, isn't it?
Till then, Koolred would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!

UPDATE: The date for the flight has been postponed to 4 July 2011, where Sir Richard Branson will serve on the AirAsia X flight from Stansted, London to Kuala Lumpur. We look forward to seeing you on-board, Sir Branson!

Nope, it's not Santa Claus. It's Sir Richard Branson in a hot red AirAsia female flight attendant uniform! A year ago, two airline tycoons were both making debuts in the Formula One racing scene with their respective racing teams- AirAsia boss Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes unveiled his Lotus F1 Racing team while Sir Richard Branson of the Virgin Group launched Virgin Racing.
As Tony Fernandes was confident his team would edge out his counterpart's squad, the eccentric Sir Branson raised the stakes and issued a comedic bet between the two that would change one of their lives: The team that fared worse in the F1 championship would have their owner don the air stewardess uniform of the winner's airline and would have to serve on the other's aircraft as well.
Therefore if Tony Fernandes lost the wager, he would be clad in the Virgin stewardess uniform, serving on Sir Branson's Virgin Atlantic Air. And Sir Branson would reciprocate the challenge if Lotus Racing beat his Virgin squad. Well, that's exactly what happened as Lotus Racing outperformed Virgin Racing and so it'll be Sir Richard Branson who will be putting on make-up and strapping on a pair of high heels as he performs duties as an AirAsia stewardess.

Sir Branson is set to serve on a long haul AirAsia X fight from Kuala Lumpur to London. The sales from the seats will be auctioned off to the public and the proceeds collected from ticket sales will be donated to Sir Branson's chosen charity. So his hard work, strutting down the airbus aisle in those painful heels will definitely pay off. Not only has Tony Fernandes presented Sir Branson with his AirAsia uniform, he has also pinned his personalised AirAsia stewardess' badge on him- making him an official AirAsia staff for a flight.

We're so excited to see how this fares and so while Sir Branson preps himself to be part of AirAsia's famous cabin crew, Koolred is launching a new contest called "Lotus Racing Forum Contest!".
Every week we will release a simple question in relation to the Tony VS Richard bet on the Koolred Forum, and all Koolred members are welcome to submit an interesting reply to the question in no more than 100 words. There will be a different question every week and the contest will run from 2nd December till 22nd December 2010.
So this week's question will be from 2nd till 8th December and a new question will be posted on the 9th December 2010. Just like the winners' podium in F1 races, we will have three winners with the best answers every week. The winners will be awarded exclusive Lotus Racing merchandise worth up to RM500!

So get witty and join the "Lotus Racing Forum Contest" on Koolred by signing up on Koolred today. If you're already a member, simply log in and look out for the contest post in our Forum Page. Hurry now, these great Lotus Racing merchandise await you at the finish line!
