What did I do last week? Well, I was treated to some tea at Mandarin Oriental Hotel (KL)'s Lounge on the Park. And of course, what caught my eye first amongst all those sugary treats was the bluberry-infused macarons:
At RM68 per pax, you can indulge in a three-tier tea time set with a choice of brewed coffee or tea. I had latte.
The latte came with a really big biscotti. I've never seen such a big one.So there's two selection of tea buffets you can choose from: Traditional Afternoon Teas and "Berry" Afternoon Tea (both at RM68).In the pic below you can see the Traditional on left and Berry on right:
Both sets come with scones, sandwiches and chocolate/ sugary delights. Traditional was more towards cakes and desserts (Scottish nut cakes, creme brule)
Berry was more towards berry-themed knick knacks (like raspberry tarts, black current macarons, passion fruit eclair, cranberry marshmallows)
I enjoyed the chocolate truffles and the tiny bite-sized sandwiches!!
Spiced roast beef with poached eggs in a soft dough bun! YUM!
The ambiance of the Lounge is alright.
They have a live pianist on set... but I still favour the tea time at Westin KL (I should be there this week). Their variety of tea delights are far more extensive and everything would get you on a chocolatey/ sugary high. Didn't manage to eat this... I think it's salmon:
Mom and me before digging in. Well, not really much of digging in...
