Wao, I didn't blogged for so long! Been really busy at work and every night and weekend were lined up with events and activites.
And also I was addicted to Draw Something for a while
Janda Baik is located below Genting Highlands and the car ride there is quite enjoyable. We bought McD and ate all the way there with the car window winded. Just follow the sign board and you will reach Janda Baik and after the Janda Baik 'Welcome' gateway, we still need to drive quite far in to reach the resort that we're staying which is Suria Hill Country Home. We booked for a night stay for RM140 (add RM 30 because its a weekend) through Groupon. Check in was okay, we waited for a while though because there was another guy stuck at the counter asking where is the ATM. lol. seriously you do not need much cash here because there is nothing much to buy.
Anyway, we're given a room near the lobby at ground floor which is opposite the dining area where we will take our breakfast. It's quite noisy during the morning, people eating and chatting, otherwise it's awesome because wifi is only available at the lobby and I can detect wifi from my room
Yes, I need my wifi eventhough I'm in middle of nowhere.
The room is basic with mini fridge and some paid channels on the TV. The bed and furniture still looked brand new. I brought quite a lot of fruits along, so it's great to store them in the fridge for picnic by the river
Path leading to the river just outside my room
Breakfast area- free flow coffee and tea 24/7
Brought pomegranate and mandarin oranges to eat by the river
We waited till 5pm before taking a trip to the river located just behind the resort, wanna avoid UV. The view is awesome but the water is too cold for wading by then. The water is too cold the next morning, so we didn't get to swim there this time. We just sat by the river for the longest time while watching leaves floated by rapidly.
We sat on swings and just swing away lazily watching the evening pass by. Even Jayple took time to relax.
We followed a pakcik who's fishing with a fish net to a nearby brook. He didn't get any fish after many many tries. I helped him by pointing some tiny fishes swimming near me and he caught them and gave it to his two grandsons. Now I pitied those tiny fishes
Time for dinner. The host told us there's a warung (malay food stall) nearby so we walked there to check the place out and ate a simple but satisfying dinner there. Check out the food review
here.
As we are having dinner, the temperature started to go low. After dinner, Riki took his laptop to online under the stars and in the cold. No aircond is needed at this place
Simple breakfast of nasi lemak, bihun goreng, cereals and toast bread are served.
We ate and ran to the river behind the house again to play on the swings and dip our toes in the cold water. Riki is so happy he did somersault a few times on the grassy riverside lol.
Bunch of flowers we saw on the way to the river.
We left the place feeling refreshed and promised that we will be back! *abrupt ending lol*
