I guess it would be great to share once-a-life-time travel experience that happened to me for my Phuket Trip (21-24th May 2011).
The story was like this - my friend and I met up on that day at the One Utama Skybus Station to enjoy the bus service. Both of us traveled light and has no check-in lugguage. The bus left at 1:15pm and we were excited about the Phuket trip, though I was not feeling well (have been sicked for 1 week and on medication) The bus reached LCCT around 2:20pm and I reached my bag for the boarding pass to have the verification process done.
I started to panic when I cannot find my passport and finally realised that I left it at home (It was the first time I did this mistake!). The ETD was 4:15pm and it was already 2:30pm! I decided to give it a try (and was ready to buy a new ticket to Phuket) by rushing home with the Airport Taxi. I reached home around 3:30pm and I only had 30 minutes to the boarding gate, which obviously was not possible. Anyway, I drove my car and called my friend to enquire for the next Phuket Flight (which was available around 8pm on the same day).
Few minutes on the road, my friend called to inform me that due to some operational practice, all Airasia flights had been delayed!! I responded like "What? Are you kidding me?" and my friend assured me about the delay although there was not knowing how long the delay would be.
I was so excited about the news and said to myself that I must write a blog to share if I could really make this flight for the 4:15pm. By the time I reached LCCT and parked my car, it was already 4:25pm. Under normal circumstances, the flight had already been heading to Phuket already. But my friend and other passengers were still waiting in the boarding room. I was allowed to check-in and joined my friend by 4:35pm. The flight finally took off after 5:30pm.
So here was my point, when everyone was complaining about Airasia flights delay on that day, I think I am the only passenger thankful for the delay. What a lucky day for me! "Thank you Airasia for the delay"!!
If you think I am indeed the luckiest passenger, please vote for me. ^_^
