It's Good Friday today, a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death, and is observed in many countries worldwide including some parts of Asia. And this is followed with Easter two days later (This Sunday!).
Though this is a religious holiday, modern day Easter is widely celebrated by many irregardless of religion. Who can resist cute bunnies, painted eggs and all that chocolate! Seriously, any reason for an Asian to feast is always a good thing.
So have fun chomping down your chocolate Easter eggs. But don't forget to share it with friends and loved ones too.
Or if you're having an Easter egg painting party, be sure to document it on Koolred at the
Photos and
Blog sections.
Coincidentally, Easter is not the only celebration this Sunday. For those into space exploration, you'd know that this Sunday is also a special day.
Yuri's Night is an annual international celebration, held every April 12, since 2004. This is to commemorate two space exploration milestones: first, being the launch of the first human into space, Yuri Gagarin, in 1961 and the launch of the first space shuttle, STS-1, in 1981. Both historical events happened on the same date.
This celebration is also an effort to increase public interest and awareness in space exploration. Forty-five countries are taking part this year. Parties will be held for this occasion. Check out the
official website to see if there's a party where you live. Have fun!
Since bunnies are in order this weekend, you might want to check out
Angry Alien for animated condensed movies in 30 seconds (as re-enacted by bunnies) for a few laughs.
Happy Easter from all of us at Koolred!
