Brin' out yer inner pirate tomorrow as you 'ave a good excuse t' do so. September 19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

No kiddin'. It's an actual event. OK, parodic holiday. But an official one nevertheless.

It started out in 1995 by Mark Summers and John Baur o' Oregon, USA, based on a goofy idea by humorist and author Dave Barry. Needless t' say, t' idea took off.

Remember t' talk pirate tomorrow t' your mom, dad, beauty, neighbor, t' waiter takin' your what crawled out o' t' bung hole (dinner) order, t' doubloonsier (cashier) at t' market - anyone! People may stare at you weird but it's OK. Just for a day. A pirate like you can handle it.

However, please remember to switch back by Sunday. The fasting month of Ramadan ends with the Eid ul-Fitr or Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration then. It's a much awaited festive holiday here in Asia and around the world. Enjoy the festivity and the long break.
