A new year brings a new chapter with opportunities.
We kick start the new year with an optimistic post that might inspire you to pursue more in your travel list. Here's a list of travel goals for the year with the aid of some inspirational photos. We asked some of our followers on
Twitter about where and how they want to travel in 2012 and indeed we got plenty of interesting replies!
Let’s check out some of your super Kool travel goals:
2012 is the year I will…
Most people want to get away from it all, unwind and escape from the hustle and bustles of the city. For that ultimate relaxation, escape to the tranquil beaches in
Krabi, Thailand or watch the romantic
Bali sunset. Set yourself up with a spa session and you’ll be rejuvenated by the time you get back to work.
Why not take a road trip with some friends? The small yet beautiful town of
Sekinchan, Selangor is the perfect getaway for those searching to escape the busy city life. You’ll be treated to the
breathtaking view of paddy fields and clear blue skies- a splendid view that will help clear your mind.
For some of us, travelling is an avenue to expand knowledge and experience new things. So why not participate in a different festival or event? In India, the
Holi Festival is the most boisterous of Hindu festival where participants will playfully squirt coloured water and powder on passer-bys. Such a great way to
meet new people too!
Each year, thousands of foreign visitors travel to Thailand to celebrate and join the fun-filled
Songkran Festival. If you’re making your way down the street, don’t be alarmed when you have buckets of water thrown at you by teams of merry makers in the backs of trucks. So be sure to get involved- if you can’t beat them, join them!
Do you dare take a plunge from a platform of over 200m high while an elastic cord suspends you just inches above the ground at the end of the leap? If you’re hooked on that adrenaline high, then take on the
world’s highest bungee jump at Macau Tower where you will take on a free fall at the speed of up to 200km/hour!
Like living on the edge? The
Sky Walk Extreme in the Philippines can give you that natural high as you’ll be walking around a translucent glass floor on the edge of a building. You’ll feel like you’re walking on air as you get a full breath-taking view of the city. The only thing keeping you from falling is just an overhead safety harness!
Everyone needs to indulge their vices every now and then. When you travel, you leave your everyday life behind- which is the perfect excuse to indulge in those guilty pleasures that you usually refrain yourself from.
Can’t stop yourself from digging into scrumptious local delights when travelling? Asia is home to great foods and we think one of the upcoming cuisines would be
Vietnamese food. Make a trip to Taiwan where you can find
uniquely different snacks!
Love to shop? Then flee to Bandung, Indonesia which is a shopping haven of
factory outlets. You’ll find great bargains and branded clothes at slashed down prices (if you’re lucky)! Whether it’s food, music or fashion, let loose and truly enjoy yourself when you’re on holiday.
These are what we call, once-in-a-lifetime travels where the holiday experience is a unique “one-off” trip that’s beyond ordinary! The experience you garner from the trip will be exceptionally momentous- like making it to the base camp of
Mount Everest in Nepal, or getting up close-and-personal with predators on a
walking safari in Kenya.
This year one of the main events is the
2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. What better way to make 2012 a memorable year by actually being there to witness the international affair. Some travellers have gone the distance to make preparations and saved up just to catch this experience of a lifetime!
We hope you had fun reading this post. We’re eager to know what you have planned for 2012 in terms of your travels. So impress us by telling us what you aim to achieve this year:
