Warm and prosperous greetings from Koolred!

To all Redsters who will be celebrating Chinese New Year, how are the preparations going? Have you started shopping for your new clothes? Stocked up on those yummy cookies and must-have mandarin oranges yet? With less than two weeks away from the first day of the lunar calendar, we’re sure many of you are half way through your to-do list.

This year, Chinese New Year falls on 23-24 January 2012 and it’s the year of the dragon. The Chinese dragon is the fifth sign in the Chinese zodiac and this magnificent, mystical creature is regarded as auspicious symbol which represents power, good luck, success and happiness. The dragon is an important element during Chinese New Year as well as many other Chinese festivals.

So what crafty Koolred DIY did we do this Chinese New Year? Well we welcome the year of the auspicious dragon by making this simple Chinese Dragon Fridge Magnet craft. Not only is this a great DIY deco for the new year, it makes a good (and creative) household item too!
