We arrived early at Sandy Bay for dinner. The Beach Club had quite a selection of wines. Nothing overly expensive but certainly an interesting selection of value for money good wines. We opted for a Chilean. Santa Ema Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 D.O. Maipo Valley while we watch the sun go down and breathe in the freshness of the ocean.
A delightful ruby red which was perfect for our relaxed evening. It was an easy wine which paired very well with the meat dishes that we ordered for dinner. However it was just as brilliant on its own with hints of vanilla and sweet berries that Elle and I finished it before our dinner arrived while the boys contented themselves with their whiskeys.
As I pen this one week after the experience, I am transported back to my evening at Sandy Bay at Nusa Lembongan. I can't wait to return in 6 months time. Till then, its life in KL and perhaps a few Malaysian beach holidays in between.
